Chamber Supports the Efforts to Boost Hill Climb

The 40th Annual World Championship Snowmobile Hill Climb (Hill Climb) is scheduled for March 24-27, 2016 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Managed by the Jackson Hole Snow Devils (Snow Devils), a local nonprofit, Hill Climb is widely recognized as a vital winter event by local businesses and nonprofit organizations. The four-day affair attracts thousands of visitors who spend the weekend enjoying a unique Jackson Hole experience.

Warm February temperatures have raised some concerns that the Hill Climb could be affected. Community partners met on Friday, February 26 to discuss plans for the Hill Climb and determined that, unless temperatures get far warmer, “all systems are go” for the Hill Climb to occur this year!

The Snow Devils, Bridger-Teton National Forest, and Snow King are collaborating to develop contingency plans to ensure that the event will take place even if the weather doesn’t cooperate.

Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) President/CEO Jeff Golightly commented, “We applaud the Snow Devils, Bridger-Teton National Forest, and Snow King for committing to ensure the Hill Climb can happen this year.”

The Snow Devils were recognized at the Chamber’s 2009 Annual Awards Celebration for their considerable service efforts. The group’s work provides an important economic boost for the community and raises money for charitable organizations, educational scholarships, and educational courses concerning winter activities (specifically avalanche training).

The Snow Devils need your help! Businesses, nonprofits, and individuals can support the mission of the Snow Devils and boost the Hill Climb through sponsorships. Visit http://www.snowdevils.org/HCSponsors.htm.

Snow Devils President Jeff Toolson commented, “The Snow Devils is a completely volunteer group. We have 100+ dedicated members that take time off of work and take time out of their days year round to make Hill Climb happen. They do it because they believe in our cause and they love this town. Any support that we can get from the local businesses to make this event grow stronger is going to benefit the entire community.”
