Sustainable Tourism Featured in Explorer

From Kate Foster, Communications Manager: The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce is hard at work on the 2015 Jackson Hole Explorer Visitors Guide. We'll be including some tips on how to make your trip more sustainable with information about recycling, water bottle filling stations, and electric vehicle charging stations. One of my favorite ways to practice sustainability in Jackson Hole is to shop at the Jackson Hole Farmers Market on Town Square and the People's Market. Great Until Late Holiday Shopping Weekend

Great Until Late holiday shopping weekend festivities will be held around Town Square on Friday, December 19 and Saturday, December 20 from 5:00-8:00pm.

The event features the Cathedral Voices carolers from 5:00-8:00pm, Santa on the Square from 5:00-7:00pm, and the Great Until Late participants who will be open until at least 8:00pm. Shoppers are invited to enjoy Jackson Hole’s festive mountain town atmosphere.

Great Until Late is the local shopping program that works to boost winter business for shops, restaurants, and activities. Participants display a poster and collection bin while staying open until at least 8:00pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays through Saturday, March 28 (excluding holidays). Visitors and local residents who patronize participating businesses after 6:00pm will have a chance to win a 2015-16 Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Grand Pass and $500 in Local Gift Cards. Win a Weekend Peak Pack Ski Pass!

Jesse O'Connor will continue the annual tradition of auctioning a Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Weekend Peak Pack Ski Pass live on the air on KJAX (93.5 FM) with host Del Ray John from 3:30-4:30pm on Thursday, December 11.

Funds raised during the auction will help to support the winter airport program — Howdy Pardners and community volunteers greet passengers on weekend flights during ski season with orange juice and mimosas. The funds help pay for cups, orange juice, and keepsake hatpins. Mike Gierau of Jedediah's Original House of Sourdough generously donated the sparkling wine.
