From the Desk of Jeff Golightly

Jeff Golightly
An Excerpt from the Letter from President/CEO

The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce runs successful events, offers multiple opportunities for networking, provides strong Member communication infrastructure, supports professional visitor services, and includes a veteran sophisticated travel sales department that all have the purpose of advocating for business. So recently, when Sequestration swirled about in the news with the threat that the south gate of Yellowstone was going to open late, many people in the community started to debate whether or not there was going to be a significant impact for our economy. At the Chamber, we knew it was a risk we could not afford to take. We decided to make an investment to ensure that Yellowstone would open on time. We're happy that the Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Board, aka the Lodging Tax Board, also felt that opening the gate was a necessity and as such contributed significant support. Our tourism economy and our businesses are far too valuable to gamble with.
